Mulbrydale
Mulbrydale is a quiet settlement located southwest of Hanged Man's Tree in northern Velen, named after an uneducated botanist who mistook all nearby trees for mulberries. Players visit the hamlet while traveling across No Man's Land to check its notice board for regional contracts and encounter various side quests stemming from the surrounding roads. It also serves as the return home for a captive craftsman rescued from a nearby bandit camp.

The short version
What matters
- •Reading the central Notice Board to uncover regional points of interest and start the quest "Wild at Heart".
- •Freeing the captive swordsmith and armorer from Swamp Bint Harbor so he reopens his workshop in the village center for crafting, repairs, trading, and Gwent.
- •Blasting open the locked cottage door with Aard to retrieve high-tier randomized gear and crafting loot from the interior chest.
Common mistakes
- •Expecting the village craftsman to be available immediately; his workshop starts empty until you rescue him from bandits at Swamp Bint Harbor.
- •Assuming the rescued smith is permanently bugged if his trade prompt fails to open; simply meditate or reload the game to reset his interactions.

Welcoming the Rescued Craftsman
Once you liberate the captured armorer and swordsmith from the cage during the Person in Distress encounter at Swamp Bint Harbor (Peet's Landing) to the south-southwest, he settles back at his forge in the center of the village. Speak with this amateur artisan to access weapon and armor crafting, gear repairs, upgrade services, general trade, and a match of Gwent.
Watch out: If the craftsman will not engage in dialogue or trade after his rescue, meditate or reload the area to fix the bug.
