Garden of Freya
Geralt enters Freya's Garden alongside Yennefer to track down Craven, a disgraced villager who attempted to regain his honor by challenging the immortal werewolf Morkvarg. Players inspect clues around the sacred tree, follow blood and foot trails through the overgrown complex, and manipulate a sluice gate mechanism to traverse the waterways. The investigation leads into the well where Craven's corpse rests, allowing Yennefer to perform necromancy to uncover Ciri's fate.

What matters

- •Use the Padlock key on the locked door of the Chapter House near the sacred tree to retrieve Morkvarg's journal.
- •Collect the Key to Freya's Garden from the remains in the cave near Craven's body.
Common mistakes
- •Feeding Morkvarg werewolf meat before swimming through the right canal floodgate permanently locks out the underwater cavern's quest objective and the Padlock key.

Flooded Cavern
Return to the sluice levers to open the right-hand gate, then swim through the right canal entrance into the underwater tunnel beneath Morkvarg's lair. Dive down to the human skeleton on the cavern floor to loot the Padlock key, along with the Key to Freya's Garden found on the remains near Craven's body.

Choices here
What you decide here and what it leads to.
Dealing with Morkvarg early
After defeating Morkvarg in combat
- Feed Morkvarg werewolf meat immediately→ Permanently finishes Morkvarg early, but permanently misses the Padlock key on the submerged cavern skeleton and skips exploring the underwater passage quest objective
- Investigate the submerged cavern before disposing of Morkvarg→ Allows swimming into the flooded cave to loot the Padlock key from the skeleton, which unlocks the Chapter House room containing Morkvarg's journal
Most players pick: Investigate the submerged cavern before disposing of Morkvarg
Point of no return: feeding him his own meat early permanently locks out the underwater tunnel objective and the key found there.

Enemies: Morkvarg (Cursed Werewolf)
Threats: High-speed slashing attacks, leaping lunges, rapid passive health regeneration (Cursed Undead/Werewolf traits), and inability to permanently die by normal combat due to his starvation curse
Tactics: Engage him in the open garden or narrow cave entrance, interrupt his rapid healing by applying burning via Igni or throwing a Moon Dust bomb, and sidestep behind him when he lunges to land fast silver sword strikes coated in Cursed Oil; after incapacitating him, feed him his own Werewolf Meat to break the curse lethally, or use the Cursed Fang / Padlock Key route to lift it permanently
Enemies
Packs rove the ground-level courtyards and lower pathways.
An undying werewolf bound by a terrible curse who regenerates vitality rapidly and continually revives after defeat.
Tips
- Do not rush into finishing the main questline with Craven before exploring the waterways, as operating the sluice levers opens flooded tunnels that simplify both garden navigation and resolving Morkvarg's curse.
