The short version

What matters

  • •Collecting Orders on Elegant Stationery northeast of the vineyard to uncover the planted Archespore sabotage plot.
  • •Rescuing the herbalist from the north-northeast cave so she opens her shop at the Coronata Estate.
  • •Searching under the Pittapatte River Crossing bridge to obtain the key and note that begin Coin Doesn't Stink.

Common mistakes

  • •Turning in Wine Wars: Coronata to Liam before collecting and reading the Orders on Elegant Stationery, which permanently locks you out of Wine Wars: The Deus in the Machina.
  • •Finishing Wine Wars: Belgaard before turning in the letters for The Deus in the Machina, causing the conspiracy route to be lost.

What you can skip

  • •Searching for Matilda de Vermentino or the Vermentino guarded treasure items here, as both belong to Vermentino Vineyard to the west.
  • •Worrying about the timing of the List Marked with the Seal of Liam Coronata, since it holds no quest significance.

The area in the order you play it. Tick things off as you go: they tick off in the checklists below too.

  1. 1

    Arrive at Coronata Estate

When you arrive at the Coronata Estate via the fast-travel road signpost, look around the central manor and its surrounding grape terraces. You can prepare your gear using the on-site Grindstone and Armorer's Table, and you will eventually find Liam de Coronata on the residence grounds alongside a rescued herbalist vendor. Along the main road connecting the estate entrance gates toward Plegmund's Bridge, watch for a wandering Merchant traveling past.

Tip: Use the signpost, checkpoint auto-saves, or the manual save function whenever you need to record your progress.

  2. 2

    Destroy the Northern Monster Nest

Head directly north of the Coronata Vineyard estate to reach the Vineyard Infestation sub-location. Slay the two Archespores defending the grounds to collect their juice and tendrils, then destroy their monster nest to secure the vineyard terraces.

    Key fight: Archespores
  3. 3

    Clear the Guarded Treasure Clearing

Head to the clearing northeast of Coronata Vineyard, located directly south of the Trading Post. Slay the two guarding Archespores, then search the campsite bench to loot the dead body for Orders on Elegant Stationery alongside the nearby Guarded Chest. Reading this document exposes that the infestation was intentional sabotage via planted seedlings, which unlocks the conspiracy branch leading to Wine Wars: The Deus in the Machina.

    Key fight: Archespores

Tip: Looting the dead Archespores yields Archespore juice and tendrils.

Watch out: Do not turn in the vineyard contract to Liam or Matilda before collecting and reading this letter, or the conspiracy questline will be permanently missed.

  4. 4

    Reclaim the Forest Herbarium

Travel directly southeast of the Coronata Vineyard estate to discover an Abandoned Site at the Forest Herbarium. Eliminate the Archespore threatening the area so the local workers can safely return to work. Before leaving the liberated clearing, approach the cart and loot the dead body inside to pick up the List Marked with the Seal of Liam Coronata.

    Key fight: Archespores

Tip: The document in the cart holds no mission importance and can be acquired whenever you clear the location.

  5. 5

    Rescue the Captive Herbalist

Travel north-northeast from the Trading Post to enter a small cave hideout housing a captured herbalist. Eliminate the bandits holding her prisoner, then loot the corpse of a slain captor to acquire the Dirtied Letter. Freeing the herbalist will safely send her back to set up shop at the main Coronata Vineyard estate buildings.

    Key fight: Bandits / Renegades
  6. 6

    Search the Pittapatte River Crossing

Head to the eastern edge of the area to reach the Pittapatte River Crossing bridge. Search underneath the bridge to uncover a dead body carrying the Key to lockbox and its attached note (Letter to Cosmo Cyrille). Collecting these items will automatically begin the quest Coin Doesn't Stink.

Finding and Reading the Sabotage Orders

While clearing the Guarded Treasure northeast of Coronata Vineyard

  • Collect and read the Orders on Elegant Stationery→ unlocks the ability to uncover the conspiracy in the quest Wine Wars: The Deus in the Machina
  • Ignore the orders or report Coronata's problems complete before reading both conspiracy notes→ permanently locks out the Wine Wars: The Deus in the Machina questline

Most players pick: Collect and read the Orders on Elegant Stationery

Point of no return: turning in either vineyard's quest to Liam or Matilda before reading both letters permanently misses the joint conspiracy branch.
