Walkthrough

The area in the order you play it. Tick things off as you go: they tick off in the checklists below too.

1. 1

   Arrive at Hierarch Square

When you arrive in the center of Hierarch Square, you can access the Journeyman Armorer's shop, trade with the fish and provisions merchant near Vivaldi's Bank, or visit Vivaldi himself at his bank. You will also find an antiques and luxury goods merchant near Marcus Hodgson's bookstore and a general merchant selling books and decoction formulas in the square's northwestern corner. Before leaving the market square to search for Triss Merigold, note that the leader of the Witch Hunters, Caleb Menge, is stationed up at his headquarters and barracks on Temple Isle.

2. 2

   Search Triss Merigold's Rental Apartment

Head over to Triss Merigold's looted rental apartment near Hierarch Square in the Bits, where she initially resided in an upper garret room. Search the top floor carefully to collect the Rose of Remembrance quest item resting directly on the nightstand next to her bed. Complete your search during or after the quest Pyres of Novigrad before you progress Triss's narrative any further.

Rose of Remembrance: Inside Triss’s rented home on the top floor, on the bedside nightstand next to the bed

Watch out: The Rose of Remembrance will be permanently missed if you allow Triss to depart Novigrad permanently during the quest Now or Never without picking it up.

3. 3

   Track Leads Through The Bits

Wander through The Bits between the Southern Gate and Oxenfurt Gate, where you can conduct business with a local loan shark functioning as a pawn merchant and currency converter. You can also visit a poor merchant running an item shop near the Southern Gate. While exploring the surrounding districts, take note of Carlo Varese (Cleaver) at his gang headquarters near the city center and Cyprian Wiley (Whoreson Junior) at his secluded estate in the Oxenfurt Gate district.

4. 4

   Infiltrate the Putrid Grove

Enter the Putrid Grove hideout to meet with Francis Bedlam, the King of Beggars, at his headquarters. While visiting the hideout, browse the trade wares carried by the local general merchant at his stall.

5. 5

Explore the Fish Market and Silverton

Make your way past the Fish Market to utilize a Journeyman Blacksmith's forge and browse another general merchant's stall. Then cross into the Silverton district, where an Amateur Blacksmith works alongside a dock merchant in the north, a fishmonger, and a halfling merchant operating in western Silverton.

6. 6

Visit the Southern Waterfront and Glory Lane

Proceed toward the southern docks to meet the master swordsmith Éibhear Hattori (Hathorne) at his dumpling shop and forge in the Glory Lane district. Once you finish his prerequisite quest Of Swords and Dumplings, he will craft and present you with the relic steel sword Blade from the Bits and provide master-level weapon services. Later on, you can also locate Zoltan Chivay at the Rosemary and Thyme cabaret (later The Chameleon) in the southern district, where Dandelion will eventually stay once rescued from Temple Isle.

7. 7

   Consult Allies in Gildorf

Travel to the Gildorf district to find Sigismund Dijkstra (operating under the alias Sigi Reuven) at his public bathhouse. In the same district, locate the oneiromancer Corinne Tilly inside the haunted townhouse before she moves over to the Golden Sturgeon inn.

8. 8

Tackle Urban Contracts and Sewer Investigations

Track the Doppler boss down into an alley near the canals during Contract: An Elusive Thief, where executing him yields Mountain Folk Boots along with a Doppler Trophy and Mutagen. Enter Lilith's Townhouse during Contract: Deadly Delights to confront the succubus Salma for her trophy, mutagen, and house key, disturb the sarcophagus near the canal wall during A Tome Entombed to face a Katakan, or confront the higher vampire Hubert Rejk in the Passiflora cellar during Carnal Sins.

Watch out: Sparing the Doppler during Contract: An Elusive Thief will permanently lock you out of obtaining both the Doppler Mutagen and Doppler Trophy.
