Walkthrough May be incomplete

The area in the order you play it. Tick things off as you go: they tick off in the checklists below too.

  1. 1

    Arriving at the Palace

When you arrive in the capital alongside Duchess Anna Henrietta after passing the Dulcinea Windmill and Tourney Grounds, head up toward the Palace of Beauclair and its surrounding terraces and gardens. In the courtyard, meet Barnabas-Basil Foulty before he relocates to Corvo Bianco, and join Anna Henrietta alongside Damien de la Tour to begin investigating the Beast of Beauclair murders. You can unlock the Palace of Beauclair signpost here among the wooden fast-travel markers, or seek out Damien where he stays in the ducal palace guard quarters and patrols the nearby palace streets.

Tip: You can fast-travel and auto-save at wooden Signposts found throughout the city.

  2. 2

Touring the Port and South Districts

Head down to the waterfront to unlock the Beauclair Port, Gate of the Glaive, Metinna Gate, and San Sebastian signposts. Along the docks near the port, you can visit the Dye Merchant for armor dyes and dye removers, buy provisions from the Butcher vendor, and stop by The Belles of Beauclair brothel run by Madame Isabelle. You can also pick up drinks from Calixte Moiré at The Silver Salamander Inn near the docks, or head toward southeastern Beauclair to find Hugo Monnart at The Clever Clogs Tavern.

  3. 3

Exploring The Gran'place and Central Hub

Enter the city center to unlock The Gran'place signpost and browse the central town square's merchants, street performers, and notice boards. Nearby, speak to Rafael de Surmann at his Ducal Camerlengo office, trade with the general merchant at the Wine Market square stall, or buy alchemy plants from the Herbalist at the Beauclair Herb Store. Drop by the Cianfanelli Bank to exchange currency or enter its cellar vault during the side quest Paperchase. After completing the main quest Blood Run, walk through the Gran'place so a messenger boy can deliver a letter from Yennefer or Triss to initiate Turn and Face the Strange.

Tip: The messenger delivering the letter will trigger whenever you explore the Gran'place after finishing Blood Run.

  4. 4

    Visiting the Hauteville Artisans

Climb into southern Beauclair to explore the artisan quarter of Hauteville, stopping for drinks with the innkeeper at The Pheasantry or visiting Hugo Monnart at The Clever Clogs Tavern. For shopping and tailoring, visit the Merchant of Dupont & Sons for art paintings and general goods, Pierre at the Tailor's Workshop, Trentin at his forge and armorer shop, and the Master Armorer at their workshop near the district's center. Finally, consult Grandmaster Armorer and Blacksmith Lazare Lafargue at his workshop to initiate the hunt for all 30 Grandmaster Witcher Diagrams scattered across rural Toussaint ruins.

Tip: While Lafargue starts the grandmaster hunt in Hauteville, all 30 diagrams are retrieved from chests in ruins outside Beauclair.

  5. 5

    Recovering Reginald's Balls

Inspect the notice board at the Gran'place or visit Lolivier Square, a plaza situated near the town center housing the statue of Reginald d’Aubry. Speak with the Perfumery Alchemist selling formulae and crafting supplies at the Perfumery near the central market, then track the scent trail leading from the statue to Hughes de Saberre’s residence nearby.

Tip: The scent trail leads directly from the vandalized statue in Lolivier Square straight to Hughes de Saberre's residence near the Perfumery.

  6. 6

Attending High Society and Arena Bouts

Enter fistfights held around the city for the tournament quest Fists of Fury: Toussaint / Raging Wolf. When your investigations lead into the main quest The Man from Cintra, attend the Mandragora masquerade party during the Ducal Soirée.

Tip: Prepare for sudden vampire ambushes when moving between the palace grounds and Damien's squad.

  7. 7

The Night of Long Fangs and the Ducal Aftermath

Experience the vampire assault sweeping the city during the late-game main quest The Night of Long Fangs. If Syanna is kept alive throughout the later events at Tesham Mutna, return to Beauclair for the formal ceremony to receive the Beauclair Casual Suit with medal and the Order of Vitis Vinifera medal during Pomp and Strange Circumstance.

Watch out: If Syanna dies at Tesham Mutna, the quest Pomp and Strange Circumstance is permanently locked out, causing you to permanently miss the Order of Vitis Vinifera medal and the Beauclair Casual Suit with medal.
