Guildhall
The Guildhall is an underground hideout in the Lower City Sewers that serves as the command post for Nine-Fingers Keene and her criminal syndicate. Visitors arrive here to track down Minsc during the quest Aid the Underduke and uncover the whereabouts of the rival Stone Lord. Later, the hub turns into a battleground when the Zhentarim stage an armed coup, forcing adventurers to choose which criminal faction will control the underworld and support them in the finale.

The short version
What matters
- •Buying the Shade-Slayer Cloak from Sticky Dondo before triggering the coup, as it stacks with other crit-lowering equipment.
- •Handing Mol her infernal contract without mentioning you slew Raphael to recruit her Fetcher's Favour buff for the finale.
- •Choosing between the Guild and the Zhentarim during the coup to secure your allied summons for the final battle and claim Roah's 10,000 gold.
- •Pickpocketing or looting High Security Vault Key n°1 from Nine-Fingers Keene to automatically breach Vault 1 in the Counting House.
Common mistakes
- •Bragging to Mol about killing Raphael; doing so infuriates her, ruining her career prospects and permanently forfeiting her Gather Your Allies ability.
- •Delaying the purchase of the Shade-Slayer Cloak until after the coup, which risks Sticky Dondo dying in the crossfire or turning permanently hostile.
What you can skip
- •Trying to force entry through the heavily trapped sewer corridor when entering via the alleyway Guild Ring socket is completely safe.
Walkthrough
The area in the order you play it. Tick things off as you go: they tick off in the checklists below too.
-
1
Infiltrate the Guildhall
Head into the alley northeast of Heapside Strand at X: 55, Y: -102 to confront Tusgront, whom you can bypass if you backed Farlin at Rivington Beach, via DC 15 social checks, or by slipping into the house directly to the south. Inside that adjacent house, loot the Guild Ring from a wardrobe, then insert it into the wall indentation in the alley to open the disguised passage (alternatively, pick the DC 20 "No Entry – No Exit" door at X: -14, Y: 772 from the sewers). Once the mechanism trips, descend straight into the syndicate's headquarters.
Tip: If you bring Jaheira in your active party before entering, you trigger custom banter with the lookouts and unique introductory cutscenes with Guild leadership.
-
2
Barter in the Central Bar
Head into the central hall at X: -15, Y: 755 and speak to the young vendor Sticky Dondo to buy rogue supplies and the critically potent Shade-Slayer Cloak. Next, talk with Mol at X: -13, Y: 751 to browse her illicit stock, and if you recovered her Infernal Contract, hand it back to her without gloating about Raphael's demise to lock in her Gather Your Allies bonus.
Tip: Sticky Dondo's inventory is permanently wiped if he is caught in the crossfire during the later gang war, so buy the Shade-Slayer Cloak immediately on your first visit.
Watch out: If you tell Mol you killed Raphael, she storms off in anger at losing her patron and refuses to aid you in the final battle.
-
3
Confer with Nine-Fingers Keene
Walk northwest into the Guildmaster’s office at X: -36, Y: 773 to consult with Nine-Fingers Keene, bringing Jaheira along to unlock crucial lore regarding their shared history. Keene reveals that the rival Stone Lord is actively targeting the Counting House vaults, advancing the quest Aid the Underduke and directing you to the bank. Before departing to pursue the Stone Lord, pick up the documents on her desk to secure leads on the diabolist Helsik and the upcoming vault heist.
Tip: Reading "From the Desk of Rakath Glitterbeard" and "Devil's Fee Observer's Report" marks Helsik's shop on your map for the House of Hope questline without requiring separate skill checks.
-
4
Plunder the Guildmaster's Private Vault
Sneak into Keene’s private bedchamber at X: -42, Y: 765 and examine the red-outlined bookcase hiding a secret passage. Unlock the bookcase using a DC 20 Sleight of Hand check or by pickpocketing Keene's bedroom key, then bypass the floor traps and safe locks on the secret landing to plunder her private stash. While in her quarters or sneaking behind her desk, pickpocket High Security Vault Key n°1 directly from Keene to save yourself a difficult lockpick later in the Counting House.
Tip: Casting Invisibility and Turn-Based Mode is strongly recommended here, as Keene's personal bodyguards actively patrol the perimeter of her bedchamber entrance.
Watch out: Getting caught lockpicking Keene's private bookcase turns the entire Guildhall hostile before you can resolve the Underduke storyline.

5
Decide the Gang War
After confronting Minsc and the counterfeit Jaheira across the bank and sewers, return to the central hall where Roah Moonglow (or Boss Friol if Roah perished earlier) ambushes Nine-Fingers Keene in an armed coup. Siding with Keene preserves the Guildhall vendors and earns the lethal "Guildmaster Keene's Fixers" summon along with approval from Jaheira and Minsc, whereas siding with the Zhentarim rewards a gold bounty and the "Black Fist Enforcers" summon. Whichever side you pick, defeat the opposing faction to stabilize the hideout and loot Roah's corpse for the 10,000 gold pouch.
Key fight: Battle for the Guildhall (Zhentarim Coup)Tip: Siding with Nine-Fingers Keene lets you keep the recovered 10,000 gold pouch from Roah's body to return to Rakath Glitterbeard while keeping your companion approval intact.
Watch out: Siding with the Zhentarim against Nine-Fingers Keene causes Jaheira and Minsc to permanently turn hostile or abandon your party forever.
Choices here
What you decide here and what it leads to.
The Guildhall Coup
During Aid the Underduke, upon returning to the Guildhall after the sewer confrontation with Minsc
- Side with Nine-Fingers Keene→ Fight and kill Roah Moonglow/Zhentarim forces; recover the stolen 10,000 gold; keeps vendors alive; Keene pledges the Guild's rogues/assassins summon for Gather Your Allies
- Side with Roah Moonglow / Zhentarim→ Turn against Keene and slaughter the Guild members; Sticky Dondo and other Guild vendors die/flee; Roah rewards you with gold, takes over the Guildhall, and pledges Zhentarim mercenaries for Gather Your Allies
Most players pick: Side with Nine-Fingers Keene
Point of no return for the Underduke gang war; siding with Nine-Fingers is heavily approved by Jaheira and Minsc.
Fate of Mol's Infernal Contract
When speaking to Mol in the Guildhall bar with her contract looted from the House of Hope
- Return the contract and conceal/do not gloat about Raphael's death→ Frees Mol from her devilish pact; pass a DC 15 Persuasion check to recruit Mol as an ally granting a passive buff for Gather Your Allies
- Return the contract and admit you killed Raphael→ Mol becomes angry that her patron died, swears future hostility, and permanently refuses to join Gather Your Allies
- Keep or ignore the contract→ Contract remains a useless quest item; Mol stays at the Guildhall without contributing as a final ally
Most players pick: Return the contract and conceal Raphael's death
Telling Mol about Raphael's demise permanently locks you out of recruiting her for the final battle.

Key fights
Enemies: Roah Moonglow (or Boss Friol if Roah died earlier) leading Zhentarim mercenaries, or Nine-Fingers Keene and her Guild agents (depending on player choice)
Threats: Roah Moonglow/Friol and their rogues rely on Sneak Attacks, multi-attacks, Uncanny Dodge, and Evasion, backed by spellcasters slinging elemental AoE (fireball, ice) and melee bruisers dealing high piercing/slashing burst damage; conversely, Nine-Fingers Keene uses devastating throwing dagger volleys, high evasion, and multi-attacks
Weaknesses and resistances: Normal humanoid vulnerabilities with no intrinsic elemental resistances; susceptible to hard crowd control (Hold Person, Command, Hypnotic Pattern, Confusion) and prone/knockdown effects, while high Dexterity and Evasion mitigate reflex-based damage spells
Tactics: Secure the elevated stairs and balconies overlooking the lower hall to maintain high ground advantage, bottleneck enemy melee units at the office doorway and narrow access ramps with area denial spells (Hunger of Hadar, Spike Growth, Wall of Fire), and eliminate enemy ranged combatants and spellcasters first to prevent them from swarming friendly faction allies
Rewards: "Gather Your Allies" summon support for the endgame (Guildmaster Keene's Fixers if siding with the Guild, or Black Fist Enforcers if siding with the Zhentarim), heavy pouch of stolen Counting House gold (if recovering it from Roah), assorted rare rogue/assassin gear, and faction vendor access
Enemies
Attempts a Zhentarim coup against Nine-Fingers Keene if she survives prior sewer encounters.
Steps in to command the Zhentarim mutiny in the Guildhall if Roah Moonglow died beforehand.
Shops and people
- Sticky Dondo: Offers consumables, armor, and the Shade-Slayer Cloak
- Severn: Sells camp supplies, drinks, and miscellaneous provisions at the Guildhall bar
Tips
- Siding with Nine-Fingers Keene during the faction clash secures the Guild's assistance as an ally in the endgame battle against the Absolute.
