Zora's Fountain (Adult Era)

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time guide · Finding the Great Fairy and the Ice Cavern

In the Adult Era, Zora's Fountain is completely frozen over, and Lord Jabu-Jabu is missing. Link must navigate across floating ice floes to reach the Ice Cavern to retrieve the Iron Boots and Blue Fire. Later, once the water is unfrozen, Link can sink to the bottom with the Iron Boots to collect additional treasures.

Great Fairy Fountain | Located on a small island to the southeast; bomb the cracked boulder near the wall to reveal the entrance, play Zelda's Lullaby, and the Great Fairy will grant Nayru's Love.

Enemies

Octorok

Weak to Shield reflection or projectile weapons

Pops up from water holes in the ice to shoot rocks at Link.

Freezard

Weak to Fire-based attacks or sword strikes

Spits freezing breath that can trap Link in a block of ice; found near the Ice Cavern entrance.

Tips

Carefully time your jumps across the moving ice sheets, as slipping into the freezing water will damage Link and force him to climb back out.
You must enter the Ice Cavern located in the northeast to obtain Blue Fire, which is necessary to melt the red ice trapping King Zora.
