The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time guide · Visiting Impa to learn Zelda's Lullaby

Kakariko Village is a peaceful settlement located at the foot of Death Mountain, founded by the Sheikah tribe and now open to the public. During this visit, Link heads toward the Death Mountain trail entrance to present Zelda's letter to the guard. Impa previously taught Link Zelda's Lullaby at Hyrule Castle, which proves his connection to the royal family and allows him to open the gate to the mountain trail.

Fall into the hole under the tree near the entrance to Kakariko Village using a bomb to reveal a hidden grotto with a chest containing a Red Rupee.At night, an open grave in the adjacent Graveyard can be pulled back to find a chest holding Hylian Shield.

Enemies

Cucco

Weak to Swords or any offensive weapons

Attacking a Cucco repeatedly causes an endless flock to swarm and damage Link until he leaves the area.

Bazaar: Sells Deku Nuts, Deku Sticks, Arrows, and Hylian Shields
Potion Shop: Sells Red Potion, Green Potion, and various utility supplies

Tips

Show Zelda's Letter to the guard standing in front of the gate on the upper path to unlock the trail leading to Death Mountain.
You can retrieve an errant Cucco behind the wooden gate near the windmill by tossing another Cucco over the fence and gliding across.
