The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time guide · Awakening as an adult and receiving the Master Sword

Link awakens in the Temple of Time seven years after pulling the Master Sword, now grown into an adult. Here he meets the mysterious Sheik, who provides guidance on awakening the remaining Sages to save Hyrule. Returning here later allows Link to place the Master Sword back in its pedestal to freely travel back and forth through time.

Warp point to the Temple of Time can be unlocked by learning the Prelude of Light from Sheik after clearing the Forest Temple.Placing the Master Sword back into the Pedestal of Time allows Link to turn back into a child, while drawing it again returns him to an adult.

Tips

You cannot travel back in time immediately upon waking up; you must complete the Forest Temple first before the pedestal will accept the sword again.
Equipping the Goron Tunic or Zora Tunic can be done inside the Temple of Time as an adult once acquired, though neither is required within this room.
