Gerudo's Fortress

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time guide · Rescuing the carpenters and gaining access to the desert

Link infiltrates the sprawling stronghold to free four captive Hyrulean carpenters held in scattered prison cells. After defeating the Gerudo guards guarding each cell and speaking to all four workmen, Link earns the respect of the Gerudo and gains permission to cross the Haunted Wasteland.

Patrols the fortress corridors and throws Link into a dungeon cell if she spots him.

Gerudo Thief

Weak to Jump attack, counter-slashes after her spinning attack

Dual-wielding miniboss encountered inside cell areas; must be defeated to get the cell keys.

Horseback Archery Range Attendant: 20 Rupees per attempt at the Horseback Archery minigame

Tips

Stun roaming fortress guards from a distance with the Fairy Bow to move past them safely without triggering an arrest.
Use the Longshot on the wooden beam above the fortress dungeon window to easily escape the cell if captured.
Equipping the Gerudo Membership Card permanently stops guards from attacking or jailing Link throughout the fortress grounds.
