The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time guide · Meeting King Zora to gain access to Zora's Fountain

Link visits this aquatic cavern as a child to ask King Zora for the Spiritual Stone of Water. After winning a mini-game to retrieve the Silver Scale, Link must dive into Lake Hylia to find a message in a bottle from Princess Ruto. Showing this letter to King Zora causes him to slowly slide aside, opening the entrance to Zora's Fountain.

Tips

Use a Deku Stick to carry fire from the torch in front of King Zora down the stairs and through the shallow water quickly before it burns out to light all torches for the Piece of Heart.
King Zora moves very slowly when clearing the path to Zora's Fountain, but you can wait or leave the area to skip waiting.
