Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition guide · First major settlement after leaving the vault
← All areas in this guide

Megaton is the first major hub settlement players encounter after leaving Vault 101, constructed from aircraft scrap around an undetonated atomic bomb. The town serves as a vital base of operations where you can trade, recruit companions, heal radiation, and resolve the fate of the town's bomb. Players can choose to defuse the bomb to earn a permanent residence or rig it to explode for Mister Burke and Tenpenny.
