Little Lamplight

Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition guide · Passing through to reach Vault 87
← All areas in this guide

Little Lamplight is a cavernous subterranean settlement inhabited entirely by children that serves as the only accessible gateway into Vault 87. To gain entry, you must earn the trust of Mayor MacCready either through dialogue, a high Speech skill, or by rescuing captured children from the slavers at Paradise Falls. Once inside, you must convince MacCready or Joseph to open a route into the lethal, radiation-shielded Vault 87 via Murder Pass or the reactor terminal.

  • Choosing Joseph to restore power to the terminal allows you to enter Vault 87 through the Reactor Door, entirely avoiding the combat-heavy Murder Pass.
  • Cave Fungus removes 10 points of radiation upon consumption, making it useful to harvest before heading into the irradiated Vault 87 exterior.
