Kiln of the First Flame
This is the final area of the game, reached by offering all four Lord Souls to the Lordvessel beneath Firelink Shrine. You traverse a winding pathway through ash and ruined architecture guarded by respawning Black Knights to reach the final arena. At the bottom lies Gwyn, Lord of Cinder, whom you must defeat to trigger the ending of the game.

Tips
- The Black Knights here respawn indefinitely, making this the best location in the game to farm Titanite Chunks, colored Chunks, and Titanite Slabs.
- Solaire of Astora can be summoned just before the fog gate if you saved him from the Chaos Bug in Lost Izalith.
- Equipping the Hornet Ring makes Gwyn significantly easier by vastly increasing the damage of your parry ripostes.
- Defeating Gwyn immediately ends your current playthrough; if you walk out of the arena or touch the bonfire, you will be thrust directly into New Game Plus.
