Oolacile Township

DARK SOULS™: REMASTERED guide · Beyond the Royal Wood

Oolacile Township is a corrupted, cascading city reached immediately after defeating Knight Artorias at the end of the Royal Wood. Players must descend through twisting staircases, alleys, and dark buildings filled with mutated citizens and sorcerers to reach the deeper dungeons. Exploring the area thoroughly unlocks shortcuts back to the entrance bonfire and reveals keys needed to reach optional challenges and the Abyss below.

Tips

Equip the Silver Pendant once obtained; it creates a temporary barrier that deflects dark magic projectiles cast by local sorcerers and later abyss bosses.
Use ranged attacks or throwing knives to bait melee Oolacile Residents away from the sorceresses to avoid getting hit by dark sorceries while cornered.
