You must navigate through armed hollows, Channelers, and revolving staircases before facing Seath in a scripted unwinnable battle that sends you to a prison cell. From the prison tower, you must stage a breakout, re-enter the main archives, and solve the path leading out to the Crystal Cave.

Wear the Rare Ring of Sacrifice during your first encounter with Seath on the crystal elevator platform to prevent losing your souls and humanity upon your scripted death.
Equipping the Slumbering Dragoncrest Ring turns off the alert state for the Pisacas, preventing them from swarming you when the alarm is activated.
Use a bow to pick off the Channeler on the upper balconies before engaging the Crystal Soldiers below to avoid fighting buffed enemies under sniper fire.
