Undead Burg
The Undead Burg is a sprawling, fortified settlement filled with hollow soldiers, archers, and traps that sits directly above Firelink Shrine. Players must navigate its ramparts, narrow alleyways, and towers to find shortcuts, secure bonfires, and confront the Taurus Demon on the high bridge. Defeating the boss grants access to the bridge leading toward the Undead Parish and the first meeting with Solaire of Astora.

Enemies
Common enemy; often waits in ambush around blind corners.
Hides behind a sturdy shield and counter-attacks if struck directly; kicking drops their guard.
Passive vendor who becomes hostile if attacked; drops the Uchigatana and Residence Key on death.
Extremely aggressive mini-boss standing down a narrow alleyway guarding the Blue Tearstone Ring.
Highly armored foe wielding a heavy club; can easily kill low-vitality players in a single swing.
Boss fought across a narrow rampart; vulnerable to drop attacks from the tower above.
Shops and people
- Undead Merchant (Male): Sells basic weapons, chain armor pieces, standard shields, firebombs, throwing knives, repair tools, and keys.
- Knight Solaire of Astora: Offers co-op allegiance and gives the White Sign Soapstone if spoken to multiple times.
Tips
- Use a kick (forward + light attack) against shielded spear soldiers to instantly break their guard and open them for a riposte.
- Clear the two crossbow hollows from the tower above the Taurus Demon before triggering the boss so you can use plunging attacks safely.
- Kicking the ladder down under the bonfire room opens a permanent shortcut straight back up to the bonfire from the lower square.
