Ash Lake is an expansive, surreal subterranean shore accessed at the very base of The Great Hollow. Players must navigate a sandbar patrolled by dangerous creatures to reach the Stone Dragon at the far end of the beach. It offers access to the Path of the Dragon covenant, unique upgrade materials, and concludes an optional NPC questline.

Ash Lake Hydra
Weak to FireSteal / drop Dragon Scale
Fires water projectiles from afar and bites once the player closes distance on the shore.
Man-Eater Shell
Weak to Strike, LightningSteal / drop Twinkling Titanite, Purging Stone
Dangerous bipedal clams that can grab the player; they congregate near the dragon's nest.
Basilisk
Weak to FireSteal / drop Eyes of Death
Can quickly inflict Curse with their breath mist.

Tips
- Do not rest at the bonfires in Ash Lake before obtaining the Lordvessel unless you are prepared to climb all the way back up through The Great Hollow on foot.
- Equipping the Rusted Iron Ring makes moving through the shallow water much faster when dodging the Hydra's attacks.
