Route 104

Pokémon Emerald guide · Traveling to Rustboro

Route 104 is a coastal route divided into southern and northern sections separated by Petalburg Woods. When heading to Rustboro City, trainers pass through the southern beach, journey through the forest, and emerge onto the northern section featuring the Pretty Petal Flower Shop. The route contains several early-game trainer battles, berry patches, and Mr. Briney's cottage.

Tips

Battle Rich Boy Winston and Lady Cindy whenever possible, as they yield exceptionally high prize money for this early stage of the game.
You cannot cross the water between the northern and southern halves directly until you obtain Surf later in the game.
