Rusturf Tunnel connects Rustboro City and Verdanturf Town, but it is initially blocked by breakable rocks. During your first visit from the Rustboro side, you enter to rescue Mr. Briney's Wingull, Peeko, from a Team Magma Grunt. Defeating the grunt recovers both the stolen Peeko and the Devon Goods, clearing the way for your main quest progression.

Tips
- Bringing a Fighting-type Pokémon like Makuhita or a Pokémon that knows Rock Smash makes quick work of the Grunt's Poochyena.
- Return to Rustboro City immediately after defeating the grunt to receive the Great Ball from the Devon Researcher and the Letter and PokéNav from Mr. Stone.
