Resident Evil 4 guide · Heading toward the church

The Quarry is a wide, rocky excavation zone crossed during Chapter 3 on the way to the Church and Lake. Leon passes through the area while dealing with scavenging crows, aggressive infected dogs, and the ominous sight of El Gigante trapped behind heavy wooden gates. You must navigate this open trench and continue through the cliffside tunnels toward the Fish Farm and Lake to find the key to the Church.

Blue Medallion: From the open center of the Quarry, look up toward the upper wooden scaffolding and walkways lining the rock walls.How: Aim upward at the suspended wooden beam and shoot the dangling blue medallion.Missable because: lost once you finish Chapter 5, as crossing into the Castle at the end of the chapter locks you out of the Village region permanently.Blue Request Note: "Viper Hunter": From the Quarry exit tunnel, follow the path toward the Fish Farm and look at the wooden wall right beside the Merchant's shop doorway.How: Interact with the blue sheet of paper pinned to the wall to accept the request.Missable because: lost once you finish Chapter 5, as advancing past the Village locks out all remaining Village requests.

Infected hounds that charge quickly; use a Shotgun or flash grenade to stagger them immediately.

Several crows are perched around the quarry ground; toss a flash grenade into the flock to kill them all at once for quick loot.

The Merchant: Sells the Bolt Thrower, Attache Case upgrades, and weapon tuning

Tips

Shoot the crows gathered in the center with a single Flash Grenade before alerting them to collect a generous bundle of Pesetas and crafting resources effortlessly.
Do not waste time trying to access the massive locked wooden doors in the Quarry during your first pass; they remain shut until a forced story encounter later.
