Leon arrives at the Village Square where Ganados are burning a police officer at the stake, triggering a major survival encounter once detected. You must survive the overwhelming assault by eliminating enemies or evading them until the church bell rings. The sequence can be expedited by dealing enough damage or entering the two-story house to spawn the Chainsaw Villager.

High-threat enemy wielding a chainsaw that can perform an instant-kill attack if not parried or dodged.

Tips

You can parry Dr. Salvador's chainsaw attacks with your combat knife, but doing so consumes a significant amount of the knife's durability.
Pushing the bookshelf in front of the first-floor window in the two-story house temporarily bars Ganados from climbing inside.
Shoot the cow in the barn or shoot the hanging oil lamp above it to ignite the animal, causing it to rampagingly trample surrounding Ganados.
You do not need to kill every enemy to progress; surviving long enough or killing roughly 15 villagers will trigger the cutscene where the church bell summons them away.
