Resident Evil 4 guide · Separating from Ashley

Leon and Ashley enter the grand Audience Chamber early in Chapter 7 and are immediately surrounded by Los Iluminados cultists. After surviving the ambush, Leon must boost Ashley over a wall to unlock the door on the upper walkway, after which a cutscene triggers where Ashley is temporarily separated from Leon. Leon then must navigate the side passages to reunite with her while dealing with zealots.

Shield-bearing variants will block frontal gunfire and require explosives or shotgun blasts to stagger.

Zealot with Wooden Shield

Weak to Explosives, Shotgun

Shoot the exposed legs or use heavy weapons to shatter their wooden protection.

Tips

Flash Grenades will instantly kill any Zealots whose Plaga parasites have burst out of their heads.
Do not let cultists get too close to Ashley during the initial firefight, as they will attempt to carry her away toward the exits.
