The Freezer is an icy sub-area located inside the Facility 1 laboratory on the Island during Chapter 13. Leon must reroute power using a circuit breaker console to access the Freezer's card key overwriting station and upgrade his Keycard to Level 2. Inside the Freezer, solving an optional power rerouting puzzle opens a side door containing the LE 5 submachine gun.

LE 5: From the Power Control Lever in the Dissection area in Chapter 13, switch the power route to the right side, enter the Freezer room down the hall to the southeast, and head to the Electronic Lock Terminal on the right side of the roomHow: Solve the terminal's circuit puzzle to open the security door, walk into the small refrigeration chamber, and pick up the weapon sitting on the silver metal trayMissable because: locked out permanently once you take the cargo elevator to the Comms Facility at the end of Chapter 15.

Tips

Solve the electronic console puzzle to unlock the LE 5's room before initiating the card overwriting terminal to avoid dealing with the Regenerador while solving the puzzle.
Running around the central tables can help you kite the Regenerador until the card overwriting sequence finishes if you lack the ammo to fight it.
