Fallout: New Vegas guide · Reaching the final location

The Sierra Madre Vault is the final interior location of the Dead Money add-on, accessed via the elevator in the Executive Suites. Inside, you must navigate shielded security terminals, access the central terminal, confront or outwit Father Elijah, and escape before the facility locks down completely. Once you trigger the finale and escape back to the Mojave Wasteland, you cannot return to this location.

Secrets

Trapping Father Elijah inside the vault allows you to complete the DLC without killing him directly and earn the "Safety Deposit Box" achievement/trophy. Sneak past him as he exits the elevator and enter the elevator he arrived in before he triggers the force fields.

Indestructible to direct attacks; must disable their blue wall-mounted emitters or change their patrol routes via terminals.

Father Elijah

Uses energy weapons and a personal force field; can either be fought directly on the catwalks or trapped inside the vault.

Turrets

Weak to Pulse grenades, armor-piercing rounds, terminal hackingSteal / drop Scrap electronics, sensor modules

Ceiling-mounted defensive turrets placed throughout the access corridors outside the vault chamber.

Tips

The 37 gold bars weigh 35 pounds each (1,295 pounds total), which will severely over-encumber you unless you drop them, use specific carry-weight perks, or use stealth to slowly walk past Father Elijah to the elevator before the force field activates.
Do not access the personal logs regarding Dean Domino on the vault's central terminal, or Elijah will lock you inside permanently, resulting in an instant Game Over.
Red speakers inside the vault catwalks will detonate your explosive collar; scan the ceilings and corners to shoot them or run past their signal range quickly.
