The Northern Passage serves as the gateway to Zion Canyon, the setting for the Honest Hearts downloadable content. Upon arrival, the player meets Jed Masterson and the Happy Trails Expedition preparing to leave for Utah. Interacting with Jed allows the player to begin the DLC, provided their inventory satisfies the expedition's strict carry-weight limits.

Tips
- Stash excess gear in the hollow rock or containers outside before talking to Jed, as you cannot exceed the 75-pound weight limit (or 100 pounds with the Strong Back perk or Survival skill check).
- Take advantage of the Survival (50) or Barter (50) dialogue checks when speaking to Jed Masterson to increase your personal weight allowance for the trip.
