Nipton
Nipton is a former mining settlement recently raided, slaughtered, and burned by Caesar's Legion in a staged lottery. Players arrive to find crucified NCR personnel, surviving lottery contestants, and an encounter with the Legion officer Vulpes Inculta. While here, you can investigate the town hall, trigger the quest "Cold, Cold Heart," and search the ruined buildings for loot while dealing with feral dogs and traps.

Tips
- Do not attack Vulpes Inculta or his Legion escort unless you want an early game Legion hit squad sent after you repeatedly.
- Watch your step inside the residential houses, as several are rigged with frag mines and tripwire shotgun traps.
- You can speak to Oliver Swanick, the winning lottery contestant sprinting away near the town entrance, though he does not offer trade or a quest.
