Fallout: New Vegas guide · Traveling to the Legion camp

Cottonwood Cove is a major Caesar's Legion port camp situated on the western bank of the Colorado River. It serves as the primary staging area for Legion troops and the departure point for taking a barge to Caesar's headquarters at The Fort. Players can clear out the base for the NCR, free captive slaves, or use it peacefully when allied with or traveling to the Legion.

Secrets

The overlook directly above Cottonwood Cove contains a truck bed carrying damaged radioactive waste barrels, which can be dislodged with a Lockpick or Strength check to flood the entire camp with fatal radiation and wipe out the Legion presence.

Tips

If you choose to release the radioactive barrels from the overlook to wipe out the camp, ensure you have already rescued Mrs. Weathers and her children, or they will perish in the fallout.
Turning in NCR dog tags to Aurelius of Phoenix or Decanus Severus provides an easy and repeatable way to gain Legion reputation.
