When you visit Thamasa in the World of Ruin after clearing the Cave in the Veldt, the injured survivor (Shadow or Relm) is brought here to rest before disappearing toward Dragon's Neck Coliseum. Later, visiting the village with Strago and Relm in your party triggers an event where Strago discovers his old friend Gungho has been injured by the monster Hidon. This unlocks the quest to travel to Ebot's Rock just north of Thamasa to hunt down Hidon.

- Bringing both Strago and Relm in your active party is mandatory to activate the scene with Gungho and open up the dungeon at Ebot's Rock.
