After crossing Mt. Kolts, the group reaches the resistance base to confer with the rebel leader Banon, who asks Terra to assist their fight against the Empire. Terra explores the refuge, speaks with her companions, and delivers her decision to Banon near the cavern entrance. Word of an Imperial invasion soon interrupts the meeting, compelling the group to evacuate through the Lethe River.

- Reject Banon's plea three times in a row to secure the Genji Glove rather than the Gauntlet, granting the ability to dual-wield weapons for significantly greater physical damage output.
- Take advantage of the hideout merchant to purchase Hi-Potions, as this base is the first vendor in the game that carries them.
- Shift Banon into the back row before stepping onto the Lethe River raft, because his low durability makes him vulnerable to sudden knockouts that cause an immediate Game Over.
