The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild guide · Clearing the dungeon

Link explores the water-filled interior of Divine Beast Vah Ruta to reclaim it from the control of Calamity Ganon. By obtaining the dungeon map, Link gains the ability to adjust the angle of Ruta's trunk to manipulate the flow of water and solve puzzles. The main objective is to activate five terminal nodes throughout the beast to unlock the main control unit and trigger the boss encounter.

Freeze the moving ice blocks created by the boss with Cryonis to break them instantly into pieces.Shoot an arrow into the orange crystal embedded inside the hub of the small waterwheel just as it passes under the water stream to open the gate hiding the terminal.

Destroying these eyes cleanses surrounding pools of damaging Malice and clears blocked pathways.

Guardian Scout II

Waterblight Ganon

Weak to headshots with arrows and Cryonis on its projectiles

The boss of Vah Ruta that uses a massive spear in phase one and floods the arena with four stone pillars in phase two.

Tips

Position the trunk at a high angle to send a stream of water through the ceiling hole to douse the flames guarding the central terminal.
You cannot re-enter the interior of Vah Ruta after activating the main control unit and defeating the boss, so collect all desired treasure chests beforehand.
Equip the Zora Armor inside the beast to quickly swim up waterfalls cascading from the raised trunk.
