← All areas in this guide

The Middle Trials consist of 16 underground floors divided into wind-based, dark, and Guardian-themed chambers. You begin stripped of all your weapons, bows, shields, armor, and provisions, forced to gather equipment as you descend. Defeating every enemy on a floor opens the portal to the next room, culminating in a permanent attack upgrade for the Master Sword upon completion.

Tips

  • Cook wood gathered from felled trees one piece at a time to create Dubious Food that restores a quarter of a heart when low on healing.
  • Floor 5 and Floor 11 are rest floors with cooking pots, so save your raw ingredients to cook optimal meals here.
  • Crouch and sneak up on the fairies at the rest floors to catch them without scaring them away.
  • In the pitch-black floors, light a wooden torch or carry a flame weapon to navigate and locate enemies before they ambush you.
  • Save your Ancient Arrows exclusively for the Decayed Guardians, Guardian Turrets, or the Guardian Skywatcher on the final floors.
