Gerudo Region: Investigating the Gerudo phenomenon

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom guide · Fourth regional investigation
← All areas in this guide

A massive shroud of sand covers the desert, cutting off navigation and making Gerudo Town accessible only through its underground shelter. Link must join forces with Sage candidate Riju to defend Kara Kara Bazaar and Gerudo Town from mysterious swarm attacks before solving the riddle of the desert pillars. Unlocking the Lightning Temple dispels the sand shroud and completes the investigation.

Shops and people

  • Kara Kara Bazaar General Store: Arrows, Hydromelons, and Cold Darner

Tips

  • Since the Purah Pad's map is disabled inside the sand shroud, look for thermal updrafts to launch into the clear sky and regain your bearings.
  • Fuse elemental materials like Shock Fruits or Fire Fruits to your arrows before targeting Gibdo hives, as hitting their glowing centers destroys the spawn points.
  • Keep a supply of both heat-resistant and cold-resistant food or armor handy, because the desert temperatures radically swing from scorching day to freezing night.
