FINAL FANTASY IX guide · The optional hidden library and synthesis shop

Daguerreo is an isolated multi-level sanctuary of scholars hidden within an island plateau cavern accessible only via the airship or a mountain-climbing Chocobo. Visitors can synthesize high-level equipment, rest at an inn, exchange ore, forge weapons, and challenge a scholar to Tetra Master games. It also serves as the location for obtaining Freya's ultimate weapon, upgrading an Eidolon's power, and consulting the "Four-Armed Man" about treasure ranks.

Daguerreo Item Shop: Sells restorative consumables including Hi-Potions, Phoenix Downs, and status-healing remedies
Innkeeper: Offers a full party HP/MP rest for 100 Gil

Tips

Visit Daguerreo as soon as you acquire the Blue Narciss or an upgraded Chocobo to acquire powerful mid-to-late-game synthesis gear early.
Equipping the Sargatanas synthesized here allows Zidane to petrify enemies instantly using the Soul Blade ability.
