FINAL FANTASY IX guide · The coronation and subsequent attack

Garnet prepares for her royal coronation as the new ruler of Alexandria, but the kingdom is violently attacked by Kuja and Bahamut shortly after. Players manage the defense by giving orders to the Knights of Pluto, fight through waves of invading monsters, and unite Garnet and Eiko to summon Alexander atop the castle turret.

Assign the Knights of Pluto correctly during the siege: send Blutzen and Kohel to gather info, Weimar and Haagen to protect townspeople, Breireicht and Laudo to make contact with Lindblum, and Doebon and Mullenkedheim to prepare the big cannons to receive an Angel Bless.

Mistodon

Weak to Fire, HolySteal / drop Potion, Hi-Potion

Undead monster vulnerable to curative magic and Life spells, fought in consecutive battles during the siege.

Tips

Equip Beatrix and Steiner with undead-slaying abilities or Undead Killer before facing the waves of Mistodons to end battles swiftly.
Remove all equipment from Beatrix before her final sequence ends, as she will not remain in the permanent party.
