The Consecrated Snowfield is a secret, blizzard-swept sub-region of the Mountaintops reached via the Grand Lift of Rold using the Haligtree Secret Medallion. The southern plains are blanketed in a blinding whiteout, while the northern frozen river leads to ruins, catacombs, and a gateway town. Traversing this harsh expanse is the essential path to reaching Miquella's Haligtree and Mohgwyn Palace.

  1. 1

    Southern Blizzard Entrance

    When you arrive from the Grand Lift of Rold through the Hidden Path to the Haligtree into Consecrated Snowfield, immediately activate the Consecrated Snowfield Site of Grace upon stepping outside into the blizzard.

    Tip: Look for glowing stones and landmarks to keep your bearings in the blinding whiteout.

  2. 2

    Crossing to the Inner Snowfield

    Cross the frozen riverbed heading north to reach the stone monolith Map Stele, where you can pick up the Map: Consecrated Snowfield as the blizzard finally clears to reveal the terrain. Just north of this crossing, activate the Inner Consecrated Snowfield Site of Grace. Wait until nightfall near the carriage convoy roaming southwest of this grace to take down the two escorting bosses for the Night's Cavalry Armor Set and loot the carriage chest for the Flowing Curved Sword, or seek out St.

    Tip: Fight the two mounted cavalrymen one at a time by luring them away from the carriage convoy.

    Watch out: Defeating the area boss prematurely locks out Anastasia's invasion along the frozen river, forfeiting her Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone.

  3. 3

    The Southwestern Plains and Sanguine Noble

    Ride into the southwestern quadrant of the plains to clear the Yelough Anix Ruins and Yelough Anix Tunnel, where you can delve underground to face Astel, Stars of Darkness and uncover the Unendurable Frenzy incantation in a subterranean chest. Defeat the invading Sanguine Noble here to claim the Sanguine Noble Set before completing the zone.

    Key fight: Astel, Stars of Darkness

    Tip: Use Torrent or nearby giants to smash through the ruin walls blocking the cellar stairs in Yelough Anix Ruins.

    Watch out: Defeating the Putrid Avatar before triggering the invasion permanently locks out the Sanguine Noble Set.

  4. 4

    Eastern Bluffs and the Minor Erdtree

    Move to the eastern bluffs overlooking the plains to inspect Albinauric Rise, solving its fighting imp puzzle to reach the top and claim the Graven-Mass Talisman. Continue along the eastern cliffs toward the Minor Erdtree to challenge the Putrid Avatar guarding its base. Descend to the eastern frozen riverbed to enter Cave of the Forlorn to face the Misbegotten Crusader for the Golden Order Greatsword, then venture into the ravine south of the cave entrance to confront Great Wyrm Theodorix.

    Key fight: Putrid Avatar Key fight: Great Wyrm Theodorix

    Tip: Pit Great Wyrm Theodorix against the local land octopuses in the ravine to chip down his massive health bar.

    Watch out: Slaying the Putrid Avatar acts as the area boss trigger that locks out remaining invasion events in the snowfield.

  5. 5

    Ordina and the Northern Waygate

    Travel north across the plains to discover Ordina, Liturgical Town and rest at its Site of Grace. Search beneath the stone archway behind the back walls on the town's perimeter to find the Black Knife Armor Set on a corpse.

    Tip: Bring a Sentry's Torch or use high-ground vantage points to spot the invisible Black Knife Assassins stalking the alleys.

  6. 6

    Apostate Derelict at the Far North

    Push to the northwestern edge of the region where the Apostate Derelict sits beneath the watchful fire of a Walking Mausoleum. Search the ruined church interior near the giant sleeping Albinauric woman Phillia to obtain the Silver Mirrorshield from a corpse, and summon Latenna the Albinauric before her to finish her questline.

    Key fight: Death Rite Bird

    Tip: Holy damage will rapidly shred the Death Rite Bird at the head of the frozen river.

    Watch out: You permanently miss the Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone here if Latenna was killed earlier in Liurnia.
