Walkthrough May be incomplete

The area in the order you play it. Tick things off as you go: they tick off in the checklists below too.

  1. 1

    Awakening in Gravesite Plain

After passing through Mohgwyn Palace into the Realm of Shadow, you exit a crypt into an open field covered in spectral gravestones and activate the Gravesite Plain Site of Grace. Head directly southeast into the open woods to confront the hostile wanderer Logur, the Beast Claw, who yields the Beast Claw upon defeat.

Tip: Defeat Logur quickly in the dense trees to secure a new weapon style before traveling the main trail.

  2. 2

    Scorched Ruins and Map Stele

Follow the primary path northeast from the starting grace until you encounter a stone stele alongside the road holding Map: Gravesite Plain.

Tip: Clear the rooftops by leaping along the ruined walls to reach the locked chamber housing the treasure chest.

  3. 3

    Exploration of the Southeastern Valley

Travel down the southern road leading into the far southeastern valley until you arrive at the Church of Consolation. Inside the sacred structure, slay the hostile Black Knight to obtain the Black Steel Greathammer, then inspect the statue to collect two Scadutree Fragments.

Tip: The Black Knight hits heavily with his greathammer, so dodge through his slow swings before looting the altar.

  4. 4

    Western Nameless Mausoleum

Travel west from the plains across the lake toward an isolated structure set in the landscape. Step inside the Western Nameless Mausoleum entrance to duel the Blackgaol Knight, whose defeat earns you the Greatsword of Solitude.

    Key fight: Blackgaol Knight

Tip: Watch out for the Blackgaol Knight's ranged attacks and aggressive crossbow fire within the confined arena.

  5. 5

    Central Plains and Scorched Encampments

Scout the open plains north of Scorched Ruins where a towering Furnace Golem patrols, dropping a Deflecting Hardtear and Furnace Visage if brought down.

Key fight: Furnace Golem (Gravesite Plain)

Tip: You can target the Furnace Golem's legs or use thrown pots to topple it while avoiding its expansive flame stomps.

  6. 6

    Southwestern Clifftops and Prospect Town

Diverge southwest across the hills toward Prospect Town, ascending through its upper ruined building to open a chest containing the Outer God Heirloom. Push onward to the high southern elevated plateau to reach the Church of Benediction, gathering the Blessed Blue Dew Talisman from the altar inside and the Oathseeker Knight Set & Pata from an outdoor corpse hanging off the northern cliff edge.

Tip: Ride carefully around the precipitous clifftops surrounding the Church of Benediction so you do not fall to your death.

  7. 7

Three-Path Cross and the Northern Trail

Proceed north into the heart of the plain to reach Miquella's Cross beside the Three-Path Cross Site of Grace, taking the Scadutree Fragment resting there and speaking with Redmane Freyja and Hornsent. Scour the Messmer soldier campsite set against the northern rock face north of this crossing to claim the Ash of War: Savage Lion's Claw from the ground.

Tip: Exhaust all dialogue lines with both Redmane Freyja and Hornsent before setting out toward either bridge.

  8. 8

Main Gate Cross and the Chasm Descent

Head northwest along the road to find the Main Gate Cross Site of Grace outside the Belurat, Tower Settlement legacy dungeon, where you can converse with Moore and Sir Ansbach. Alternatively, journey east from Three-Path Cross toward the Ellac Greatbridge leading to Castle Front, or drop down the rock ledges, tombstones, and Spiritsprings south of the riverbed to navigate the Ellac River chasm and reach the Cerulean Coast below.

Tip: Moore functions as a vendor selling arrows, crafting materials, and consumables right by the entrance gate.
