Winterhold is a dilapidated town in northern Skyrim that is home to the College of Winterhold. During the main quest line, the Dragonborn travels here to speak with Urag gro-Shub in the College's Arcanaeum to locate an Elder Scroll. After consulting the librarian, you are directed north into the Sea of Ghosts to find the scholar Septimus Signus.
