Ancestor Glade
Ancestor Glade is a secluded, lush cavern visited during the Dawnguard quest "Unseen Visions" to decipher an Elder Scroll. You must gather the bark from a Canticle Tree using a Draw Knife and walk through swarms of Ancestor Moths to become attuned to the light. Once attuned, standing in the pillar of light allows you to successfully read the Elder Scroll (Blood).

Enemies: 3 Dawnguard Attackers (Dawnguard side playthrough: 3 Vampire Ambushers including Nightstalkers/Vampire Mistresses accompanied by Death Hounds/Gargoyles)
Threats: Dawnguard hit hard with enchanted crossbows, war axes, and heavy melee staggers; Vampires use Vampiric Drain, high-tier Frost/Shock spells, invisibility, and summoned Gargoyles
Weaknesses and resistances: Dawnguard are vulnerable to standard physical/magic burst damage; Vampires have 50% Fire weakness (resist Frost) and take extra damage from Sun spells (Sun Fire/Stendarr's Aura)
Tactics: Take advantage of the elevated platform and narrow ramp leading down from the Canticle Tree to bottleneck them into area-of-effect spells or archery killzones before they surround you
Rewards: High-tier vampire dust and enchanted vampire armor/weapons, or Dawnguard armor, crossbows, and bolts.

Tips
- Gather seven separate swarms of Ancestor Moths floating around the cavern plants and paths to completely cover yourself in their aura before stepping into the central light.
- Prepare for combat right before stepping into the central light, as hostile forces of the opposing faction will instantly ambush you the moment the reading sequence finishes.
