Ultimecia's Castle
Ultimecia's Castle serves as the final dungeon of the game, accessed after navigating the compressed time anomaly. Upon entering, the sorceress seals eight essential party abilities, requiring players to hunt down and defeat optional bosses throughout the castle to break each seal. Once adequately prepared and with enough powers restored, the party proceeds to the clock tower to confront Ultimecia in a multi-stage final battle.

Enemies
The first boss encountered at the entrance; transforms into Sphinxara once its initial form takes enough damage.
Resides in the wine cellar; absorbs the element it currently counters with, alternating between Fire and Thunder.
Fought on the balcony suspended above the entrance hall; counters defeat by casting Ultima.
Located in the art gallery; frequently spawns and absorbs Droma minions to heal itself.
Found in the basement prison; has extremely high physical defense, making magic and defense-piercing attacks most effective.
Appears in the armory after defeating the initial monster group; counters physical hits with devastating status effects.
Lurks in the flooded treasure room; casts Meteor upon defeat.
Found at the top of the clock tower exterior; repeatedly charges up to cast the powerful Dark Flare attack.
Level 100 optional superboss; follows a fixed attack rotation including Megiddo Flame and Terra Break.
The final boss; shifts through four distinct phases, including a junctioned form with Griever.
Tips
- Prioritize unlocking the "Item" or "Magic" and "Resurrect" seals first so the party can reliably heal and revive fallen allies in subsequent boss encounters.
- Use the switch points scattered across the castle to divide duties between both parties and solve weight-based elevator puzzles.
- Equip the Alert skill "Move-Find" to reveal the numerous high-tier hidden draw points placed across the castle.
- For the fight against Omega Weapon, stock plenty of Holy War or Hero items to grant invincibility against its 9,998 fixed-damage Megiddo Flame and multi-hit Terra Break attacks.
