FINAL FANTASY VIII guide · Squall and Rinoa arrive in space

Squall and his companions travel to the Lunar Base in outer space to seek medical treatment for the comatose Rinoa and oversee the lunar containment facility holding Sorceress Adel. During the visit, Rinoa falls under the influence of Ultimecia and initiates Adel's release, forcing an emergency evacuation of the facility. Squall must carry Rinoa into the medical bay, observe Adel's tomb on the monitor, and eventually escape via an escape pod before pursuing Rinoa into the vacuum of space.

You can challenge Ellone to a card game right before speaking with her to advance the story, which is your only opportunity to win the Laguna Card directly from her.Piet carries the Alexander Card, and challenging him before boarding the escape pod is your only opportunity to win it from him on the base.

Tips

The Lunar Base operates under all regional Triple Triad rules at once, making Card games significantly harder; be extremely cautious when playing Ellone or Piet.
Save your game at the save point in the control room before speaking to Ellone or Piet, in case you lose rare cards to the Lunar rule set.
