FINAL FANTASY IV guide · Cecil and Kain travel through to reach Mist

Cecil and Kain journey through the Mist Cave to deliver the Carnelian Signet to the village of Mist on the King of Baron's orders. Inside, an ominous voice warns the duo to turn back before challenging them to a fight near the exit. Defeat the cave's guardian to reach the exit and proceed onward to Mist.

A hidden passageway through the east rock wall near the center of the cave leads directly to an isolated treasure chest.

Weak aerial enemy that Cecil and Kain can take down in one hit.

Swordman

Humanoid soldier wielding a blade, dealt with easily by basic physical strikes.

Mist Dragon

The boss of the cave; it transforms into an invulnerable mist form during battle.

Tips

Cease all attacks immediately when the Mist Dragon turns into mist, as any strike will trigger a devastating Breath counterattack that hits the entire party.
Use Kain's Jump ability while the Mist Dragon is in its solid physical form to deal heavy burst damage.
