Tips

Speak to Rosa and Cid before heading to Cecil's bed in the western tower, as resting triggers the story sequence to advance to the next morning.
Be sure to loot the accessible chests inside the towers and outer courtyard before leaving, giving Cecil and Kain a supply buffer for the road to Mist.
