The party returns to Baron Castle on the surface via the Tower of Babil's hook-and-chain mechanism to retrieve Cid's airship, the Falcon. While here, you can speak with Cid's apprentices to equip a drill or hook to your airship, and explore the lower levels of the castle where King Baron's spirit sleeps.

After clearing the Sealed Cave, return to the basement of the east tower through a hidden wall passage to encounter the phantom of King Baron, who challenges Cecil to unlock Odin as a summon.

Boss encounter fought in the castle basement; uses Zantetsuken after a countdown if not defeated quickly.

Tips

Defeating Odin before the timer runs out is much easier if you cast Haste on your strongest physical attackers or have Rydia cast non-elemental magic like Bio or Flare.
You can rest for free in Cecil's bed in the western tower to completely recover HP and MP before challenging Odin.
