Antlion Cave
Cecil, Rydia, and Edward venture deep into the Antlion Cave east of Damcyan to retrieve a Sand Pearl. The pearl is needed to cure Rosa's desert fever back in Kaipo. After traversing the subterranean path and defeating the normally docile Antlion boss, the party obtains the key item and can return to Kaipo.
Enemies
Highly resistant to physical attacks; use Rydia's magic or elemental items to dispatch them quickly.
Has high physical defense and strong counterattacks, but falls easily to Blizzard magic.
Boss of the cave; retaliates with a potent physical counterattack whenever struck by physical blows.
Tips
- Do not attack the Antlion boss with Edward's physical attacks or Cecil's standard strikes carelessly, as it will trigger dangerous counterattacks.
- Use Rydia's Chocobo summon or black magic against the Antlion, as magical attacks do not provoke its physical counterattack.
- A Save Point is located on the lower basement floor right before the Antlion's nest; be sure to use a Tent and save before triggering the boss encounter.
