Sin
The exterior battle against Sin takes place on the deck of the airship, divided into several consecutive boss encounters to dismantle Sin's outer defenses. You must defeat both Sin's Left Fin and Right Fin, followed by the Sinspawn Genais and Core, before facing Overdrive Sin in a timed DPS race. Successfully finishing these encounters grants access to the inside of Sin.
Enemies
Attacks from long range and can be moved closer or further away by directing Cid to steer the airship.
Fought separately from the other fin; vulnerable to long-range physical attacks and magic while at a distance.
Shields Sin's Core, absorbs Water magic, and counters attacks with Venom.
Charges powerful elemental magic while Genais is alive; targeted directly once Genais falls.
Must be defeated before its Overdrive gauge completely fills, or it will use Giga-Graviton for an unavoidable Game Over.
Tips
- Use Cid's airship command on the trigger menu to back away from the fins when Sin prepares to slam the deck, avoiding heavy party-wide physical damage.
- Fill your party's Overdrive gauges and your Aeons' Overdrive gauges before starting the final Overdrive Sin sequence to ensure you burst it down before Giga-Graviton triggers.
- Hastega and Armor Break are essential against Overdrive Sin to maximize physical damage output while keeping ahead of its charging turn counter.
