The party arrives in the port city of Luca to participate in the grand Blitzball tournament against rival teams like the Luca Goers. While Tidus prepares to play for the Besaid Aurochs, Yuna is kidnapped by the Al Bhed, prompting an impromptu rescue mission through the docks. After the tournament wraps up, fiends attack the stadium before Auron reappears to help clean up the invasion, formally joining your journey afterward.

Jecht Shot minigame: If you successfully performed the sequence on the S.S. Winno prior to docking, Tidus equips the Jecht Shot here, which can guarantee a goal in the tournament final against the Luca Goers.World Champion Celestial Weapon: After acquiring the Celestial Mirror later in the game, speak to the bartender inside the Luca Cafe while holding a high rank or wins in Blitzball to receive Wakka's legendary weapon.Sphere Theater: The receptionists inside the Luca Theater will sell you Music Spheres and Movie Spheres to replay game soundtracks and previously viewed FMV cutscenes.

Shops and people

Luca Merchant: Weapons and armor, including equipment with Piercing and basic stat boosts, sold near the dock entrances.
Luca Item Vendor: Standard adventuring supplies including Potions, Hi-Potions, Phoenix Downs, and Antidotes.

Tips

Save your game in the locker room right before the tournament final begins so you can retry the match if you want to win the Strength Sphere prize.
Switch your Blitzball team to the Mark Mode and assign your defenders to mark the Luca Goers' best shooters before kicking off the second half.
Wakka will replace Tidus in the tournament match with roughly three minutes left on the clock in the second half, bringing high shooting stats and the Venom Shot technique.
