Mi'ihen Highroad
The party travels along this long road north from Luca toward the Moonflow while learning about Lord Mi'ihen, the Crusaders, and chocobos. Along the way, you stop at an agency to rest, encounter a monster threatening the chocobos, and unlock chocobo riding for faster exploration. You can choose to proceed straight up the main path or explore the lower Oldroad loop to find additional treasures and encounters.

It can be knocked backward onto its back and eventually pushed off the cliff edge for an alternate victory.
Uses strong physical horn attacks and counterattacks; piercing weapons deal effective damage.
Fast aerial fiend best handled quickly with Wakka's ranged attack.
Heavily armored fiend that should be targeted by Auron's piercing weapon.
Fast canine fiend weak to Tidus's high-accuracy sword strikes.
Casts Blizzard magic and absorbs Ice; easily dispatched using LuLu's Fire spells.
Inflates and eventually self-destructs after taking damage three times; best destroyed quickly with Ice magic.

- Rin's Travel Agency: Potions, Hi-Potions, Phoenix Downs, Antidotes, Eye Drops, Softs, and basic elemental equipment
- Traveling Merchant Oaka XXIII: Restorative items, equipment, and an opportunity to lend him gil to lower his future shop prices
Tips
- Rent a chocobo after completing the travel agency segment to avoid all random encounters and collect otherwise unreachable chests.
- Use Auron's Armor Break or Power Break on the Chocobo Eater to significantly lower its offensive threat and defensive stats.
