Enemies

Runner
Weak to Headshots, stealth takedowns with Ellie's switchblade

Fast and aggressive; they attack in packs alongside Clickers during the cabin siege.

Clicker
Weak to Stealth stab with Ellie's switchblade, shotgun, or hunting rifle headshots

Lethal in close combat; Ellie's switchblade does not break, allowing unlimited stealth kills if unalerted.

Bloater
Weak to Molotov cocktails, explosive nail bombs, high-caliber rifle fire

Drops through the ceiling during the final wave of the sawmill holdout; maintain distance to avoid spore bombs.

David's Hunters
Weak to Flanking, stealth takedowns, headshots with the bow or rifle

Armed with firearms and melee weapons; they actively patrol the blizzard-swept town.

David (Boss)
Weak to Sneaking behind him and using the switchblade while he is distracted

Immune to frontal melee attacks; requires three stealth strikes, becoming progressively quieter and more cautious after each hit.

Tips

  • Ellie's switchblade has unlimited durability, making stealth kills resource-free against standard Infected and Clickers.
  • During the final phase of the David boss fight, broken plates and glass on the restaurant floor make noise that instantly alerts him to your position, so move slowly and crouch-walk around debris.
  • The severe blizzard outdoors reduces visibility drastically, which works to your advantage by shrinking enemy detection ranges for stealth.
