Joel, Tess, and Ellie leave the Boston Quarantine Zone and travel through the ruins of downtown Boston toward the State House. Along the way, they must navigate collapsed skyscrapers, evade military patrols, and survive their first major encounters with Infected. The chapter concludes outside the State House after a major confrontation with FEDRA soldiers.

Armed human enemies equipped with assault rifles who communicate and search in coordinated groups.

Tips

Use brick and bottle throws to lure Clickers toward other enemies or into open spaces where you can bypass them without firing a shot.
When moving through areas infested with Clickers, keep Joel crouched and tilt the analog stick gently to move at minimum speed to avoid making audible footstep noise.
Listen Mode can be restricted or disabled entirely depending on your chosen difficulty settings or accessibility toggles.
